Masters of Arts in Anthropology (University of Kansas, 1984).
He has over 25 years of experience in archaeology, specializing
in describing and interpreting the soils and stratigraphy
of archaeological sites, geomorphological mapping, and studying
fluvial processes and landscape evolution. He has over 12
years of experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
including digitizing, georeferencing, geodatabase management,
and spatial analysis. He has conducted geoarchaeological fieldwork
and GIS projects in 10 states as well as Belize and Portugal.
He brings to EarthView Environmental the ability to provide
geomorphological consulting at all phases of archaeological
work; determine buried archaeological site potential as part
of Phase I archaeological survey, describe excavation profiles
during Phase II and Phase III excavations, design and implement
coring and trenching designs at site and project area levels
of analysis; describe and characterize soils; and map surface
geology and landforms in the field and in GIS.
